CONHESS in Context — 2026

JOHESU — the umbrella body for CONHESS workers — has had ongoing disputes with NMA over the perceived wage gap between CONMESS (doctors) and CONHESS (other health workers). JOHESU argues that this gap creates a two-tier health workforce and discourages talented graduates from entering allied health professions. The union has gone on strike multiple times demanding parity in hazard allowance, call duty, and entry grades.
